Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What ages do you accept?
We serve children from newborn through pre-K, with dedicated classrooms and developmentally appropriate routines for each age group. Contact us for latest availability.

Do you offer part-time or full-time care?

Yes. We offer full-time care as well as limited part-time options, depending on classroom availability.

What curriculum do you use?

We use the FunShine Express curriculum as our foundation, and our teachers enhance it with Spanish, creative arts, music, sensory play, and nature-based learning. Our curriculum supports social-emotional development, hands-on exploration, early literacy and math, and a strong focus on the arts and the natural world.

How do I schedule a tour?

You can schedule a tour directly through our website using the “Schedule a Tour” button, or by calling us to set up a time that works for your family.

Do you offer a summer program?

Yes. Our summer program includes outdoor play, themed activities, creative projects, and enrichment experiences designed to keep children engaged and learning.

What security and safety measures are in place?

Our school uses a state-of-the-art, newly installed Koorsen Security system, along with secure entry, strict pickup procedures, regular safety drills, and continuous supervision throughout the day. We follow all Ohio childcare licensing safety standards to maintain a safe and protected environment.

Are meals or snacks included?

Families pack lunches from home because parents know best what their children will actually eat. We provide snacks each day, including fresh, in-season fruit and a variety of other healthy options. We also provide cups when children first start with us—at no additional cost—and we wash all cups and bottles for families. In addition, we provide cot sheets and wash them frequently. We believe strongly in a sanitary, clean, and comfortable environment for every child and family.

Do you have experienced teachers?

Yes. Our teachers are experienced early-childhood educators, including team members who have been teaching for 18 years and others with more than 12 years in the classroom. We prioritize teacher happiness and retention so children benefit from stable, consistent, deeply knowledgeable educators.

Who runs the school?

Heart + Harmony Kids is led by our founder and owner, Ms. Vicki, who is truly at the heart of the school. You will see her cooking, cleaning, giving tours, supporting teachers, comforting children, and building relationships with families. She is hands-on every single day, ensuring our school feels warm, welcoming, and family-centered.

What do families love most about Heart + Harmony Kids?

Most families tell us that our school immediately feels like home. They appreciate our warm, welcoming atmosphere, the way our staff genuinely cares about each child, and the supportive culture where teachers care for one another just as much as they care for the kids. Families also mention the calm, peaceful vibe throughout our classrooms—a comforting environment that helps children feel safe, relaxed, and ready to learn.

What is your teacher-to-child ratio?

We follow all required Ohio teacher-to-child ratios to ensure children receive personal attention, supervision, and support throughout the day.

How big is your school?

Heart + Harmony Kids is intentionally small by design. We have four classrooms—two pre-K rooms, one toddler room, and one infant room—along with a dedicated library and a bright, child-friendly cafeteria. Keeping our school small allows us to provide the highest quality education, deeper connections, and individualized care for every child.

How do you support arts and enrichment?

Our partner nonprofit, The A. Parsa Foundation, helps fund arts-focused enrichment programs for our students, allowing us to offer additional creative opportunities, music, visual arts, and hands-on experiences that enrich each child's learning journey.

What is your approach to technology?

We are a tech-free school. Children spend their day learning through play, exploration, nature, creativity, and real-world experiences rather than screens. We believe early childhood is best nurtured through hands-on activities and genuine human connection.

How do you communicate with families? We use Brightwheel, an easy-to-use app that allows families to stay connected throughout the day. Teachers share updates, photos, messages, daily reports, and reminders so you always know how your child is doing.

Is Heart + Harmony Kids family-owned and operated?

Yes. We are a family-owned and operated school, and that makes a meaningful difference. Our leadership is on-site, deeply involved, and committed to creating a warm, supportive, community-centered environment where children, families, and teachers feel valued and heard.

Do you host family and community events

Yes. Community is at the heart of who we are. We host family events throughout the year to help parents connect, children build friendships, and our school community grow stronger together. We believe that relationships—between families, teachers, and children—are a core part of a truly supportive early childhood experience.

Where are you located?

We are located in the Truepoint campus, nestled in nature with trees, wildlife, and peaceful green space all around us. Families often see birds, deer, and other gentle wildlife on the property. Even though we’re surrounded by nature, we are still easily accessible for families from Hilliard, Dublin, and Upper Arlington.

How do you give back to the community?

Giving back is an important part of who we are. Through our partnership with The A. Parsa Foundation, we support local families and invest in early childhood education across our community. The foundation has launched the Early Learning Award for 2026, which will provide one Pre-K child with a full year of tuition-free early learning at Heart + Harmony Kids. This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting families, increasing access to high-quality education, and making a positive impact beyond our school walls. Are you a nut-free facility?

Yes. Heart + Harmony Kids is a completely nut-free facility. We do not allow peanuts or tree nuts in any meals, snacks, or classroom activities. This helps us keep all children safe, especially those with severe allergies, and ensures a healthy, inclusive environment for everyone.
